A covid wedding reception finally happened after two long years of waiting. It’s no secret that Covid caused a lot of chaos when it comes to wedding planning. Last year, Jenny & Kai made their vows in a private ceremony with just their families present. Up until a couple months ago, gatherings were limited to under 50 people, which meant that a lot of loved ones weren’t able to be present to celebrate. But that didn’t stop these two from planning one epic party!
It’s obvious that this blog post isn’t going to have the typical layout. There’s no bridal details. There’s no getting ready. There’s no wedding party and no family formals. But you know what? It contains one of my FAVORITE parts of the wedding day; the wedding reception! I love a good party, and boy did they know how to party. While it wasn’t a part of the plan, I did manage to convince them to give me 20 minutes for portraits, and my heart is so happy! Just look at the reception space at the Hawaii State Art Museum and you’ll know why I was doing a happy dance!
