With palm trees lining the long white sandy beaches, teal waters, and a mountain backdrop, Ka’a’a’wa Beach is one of those places that you fall in love with as soon as you see it. I know I did. It’s one of those places that scream “Hawai’i” the moment you see it. Maybe that’s why Lexie & Bryan agreed to meet me here before dawn for their engagement photos.
I first met Lexie & Bryan back in 2021. Being a military family, we move a lot and don’t always know anyone in our new location. When I needed some assistance with childcare for a wedding I was traveling out of state for, I met Lexie. She is my kinda girl, let me tell you! Her sense of humor is incredible, with unmatched creativity and an amazing mama to her four kiddos (who you’ll meet soon!)
When Lexie told me about how Bryan casually proposed in the shampoo aisle of the NEX, she expressed her dream was to have the wedding they never had. Military life, you know how it goes. Well, 7 years, four kids, a re-enlistment, and several moves later, it’s finally happening! He bought the ring, they booked a cute little chapel, and now we’re celebrating their impending renewal with these drop-dead gorgeous engagement photos at Ka’a’a’wa Beach.
The session started with(out) coffee, a few hugs, and getting to witness the cotton candy skies turning into the soft golden hour light we’ve all come to know and love. Oh my goodness! My heart was so happy getting to work with glowy light. Though, Ka’a’a’wa Beach would be straight from dreams if it had been, I’m so glad it wasn’t raining.
