Tucked away along the shores of Oahu, Lanikuhonua Cultural Institute spans over 10 acres of tropical beauty, offering a serene and secluded setting for your wedding. With three distinct phases to choose from, you can design a celebration that reflects your vision—whether it’s an intimate ceremony by the sea, a lush garden cocktail hour, or a grand reception beneath the stars.
Say "I do" with the Pacific Ocean stretching endlessly behind you, beneath the shade of towering palms, or in a hidden garden surrounded by lush greenery. Some couples choose to host their ceremony elsewhere, arriving at Lanikuhonua for an unforgettable reception, while others utilize different phases of the venue to seamlessly transition from vows to celebration.
A private beach provides the perfect backdrop for sunset portraits, where the sky transforms into brilliant shades of pink and orange, creating timeless images that capture the essence of your day.
As the night unfolds, the soft glow of lanterns and twinkling string lights fills the air, mingling with laughter and ocean breezes. With the scent of salt and tropical flowers lingering, and the gentle rustle of palm leaves overhead, you’ll hold onto the moment—knowing this day was everything you imagined and more.
It’s the day of your wedding, and the warm Hawaiian sun filters through the swaying palms, casting golden light across the oceanfront landscape. Ocean waves lap against the shore setting the perfect scene for your 'I do’s' in paradise.

The vast variety of locations is one of the greatest things about weddings at Lanikuhonua. Whether you're looking for an oceanside ceremony or a night under the stars, there is something for you! Explore some of the spaces below.
Lanikuhonua does not offer dedicated getting-ready spaces, but there are several nearby hotels perfect for your wedding morning preparations. Many couples choose to get ready at Four Seasons Oahu, Marriott Ko Olina, or Disney’s Aulani Resort, all just a short drive away. These locations provide spacious suites, beautiful natural light for photos, and a relaxing start to your day before arriving at Lanikuhonua for your ceremony.
The ideal ceremony time at Lanikuhonua depends on the season, as sunset varies throughout the year. On average, ceremonies start between 3:00 and 4:00 PM to ensure beautiful lighting and enough time for golden hour portraits. Winter weddings may need an earlier start to maximize daylight. Your photographer or planner can help determine the best timing for your day.
Family portraits are typically taken near the ceremony space or amongst the lush palm trees and greenery. These shaded areas help keep everyone comfortable while providing a beautiful, tropical backdrop for timeless photos.
Yes, Lanikuhonua is a blank canvas venue, which means couples are responsible for renting all necessary furniture, including chairs, tables, and tents if desired. Many couples work with their planner or a rental company to bring in everything needed to create their ideal setup.
nikuhonua does not permit sparkler exits, but there are plenty of fun and creative alternatives! Consider a send-off with bubbles, flower petals, ribbon wands, or LED glow sticks to create a festive and photo-worthy exit. Your planner or photographer can help you choose an option that fits your vision while keeping the celebration safe and venue-compliant.
The length of your bride & groom portraits depends on whether you share a first look. If you do, plan for about 30 minutes before the ceremony and another 20 minutes after. If you’re keeping it traditional, expect 20–30 minutes of just-married portraits and an additional 10 minutes during sunset for those dreamy golden-hour shots.
Since Lanikuhonua is an outdoor venue with no permanent indoor space, it’s important to have a weather backup plan. Many couples choose to rent a tent or coordinate with their planner for a contingency plan in case of unexpected rain.
You're juggling timelines, guest lists, and vendor decisions, all while trying to actually enjoy being engaged. Maybe you've spent hours scrolling Pinterest, trying to figure out how to make everything look effortless, but instead, you’re feeling overwhelmed by all the options and details that demand your attention.
You want a wedding day that feels elegant, joyful, and stress-free, but you also know that the magic doesn't just happen—it takes careful planning and the right team to bring it all together. More than anything, you want someone you can trust to capture every moment beautifully, so that when the day is over, your photos bring it all back to life—the laughter, the happy tears, the feeling of being surrounded by the people who matter most.
That’s where I come in.
