Where to Find them
Before I start in on this post, I need to recognize that the title of this blog almost sounds like the start of a JK Rowling wedding planning guide! “Wedding Invitation Templates & Where to Find Them” I wonder if she’ll get on that? haha!
I recently teamed up with Basic Invite to explain why I love their products and everything they offer. I have actually ordered MANY MANY products from them. As a photographer, I will host and design Styled Shoots with other vendors in our “off-season” for a variety of reasons. But, that’s another blog post for another day! The main focal pieces of these styled shoots, aside from the models, are the invitation suite, menu & name cards for the place settings.
I have brides reach out after their engagement session asking me where they should order their wedding invitation templates or wedding name cards on a fairly regular basis. There are a lot of choices out there, and it can get overwhelming. Personally, I’ve ordered sample products from multiple stationers so that I can see first hand the quality and color accuracy of the products offered. As a photographer, this is important to me. Color accuracy matters when using images on save the dates or invitations. Quality matters. Basic Invite is a great option because they offer quality, affordability, and accurate colors! It’s a win-win-win!!
I see anywhere from 20-45 invitation suites every single year! One thing that I’ve loved about working with Basic Invite is that they currently offer 900 invitation “sets.” You may be asking why this is important? The thing is that it does matter when you’re looking for a cohesive invitation suite. When I’m researching and putting suites together, it’s often hard to find all the matching pieces. Basic Invite makes it easy because they show you up front the whole set! There’s no guessing as to whether or not they offer matching response cards, name cards, or signage. This level of convenience is huge when trying to piece everything together for your wedding day!
Something else to consider when choosing a stationer is how easy is it to customize? What color options are available? Can we change the back of the invitation to include photos? Can we customize the envelopes? The answer is yes..to all of the above! With over 140 color options available to most templates, the possibilities are ENDLESS. Also, they encourage you to order FREE samples so that you can see and feel the whole invitation suite for yourself! If you don’t like the envelope being white, you can choose a different color! On a selfish note, being able to change the colors of the envelopes makes photographing suites way more interesting. Plain white envelopes are sometimes expected and can be boring to photograph, so I’ll often not include them in the suite. Change it up and add some color to your envelopes.
On a side note: Make sure you take full advantage of their address collection service. It’s a link sent out via social media that will help you gather all of the addresses you will need from guests! As you get ready to order the invitations, you can have the addresses printed directly to the envelopes for no additional cost! Super helpful when you’re trying to plan a wedding and is one less thing you have to do!
When I have brides who can’t decide if they want images included, I suggest they add them on the back. Most of their designs allow for up to 6 images on the back of your invitation. Go ahead and add your favorite images to the back of your invitation suite. It’s the best of both worlds. Just remember to bring TWO invitations with you on wedding day!
Another fantastic option Basic Invite offers is the new Seal & Send Wedding Invitations. These wedding invitations are an all-in-one wedding invitation with a tear-off RSVP postcard included! Currently, there are over 30 completely customizable designs, including the ever-popular foil options! What’s special about the Seal & Sends is that guest’s addresses are printed on the front of each invitation so no envelope is necessary! Say hello to saving paper! All you have to do is share a link, collect guest addresses, and upload them onto your design. Once you receive your order, all you have to do is add postage, fold your invites, and secure them with a wax seal, or sticker!
If you’re like me, you thrive on consistency. Once you’ve found your perfect wedding invitation theme, the perfect way to tie it all together is by having Basic Invite host your wedding website! The wedding websites are completely customizable! They’re mobile friendly and super easy to use. You can instantly upload all of your wedding details, along with images from that engagement session you just had, and a convenient map with directions for your guests. Choose from 180 custom colors, and a design suite to match your wedding invitations!
I hope all of this information about wedding invitation templates, wedding websites, and the name cards has been helpful. From a photographer’s perspective, Basic Invite really is a fantastic company to work with.
