A multi-location engagement session on the beautiful Coast Guard base in Petaluma.
This post is one that is bitter-sweet. Diana & Evan first contacted me a few months ago about photographing their wedding at Foxtail Golf Club in Rohnert Park. I talked to them for just over an hour about everything wedding-related the first time we spoke! From discussing how to incorporate shades of yellow & blue in to Evan’s tie. To the center pieces. To their love of pickleball. We talked about it all! Well, right around this same time frame, Sean and I are told that there is a good chance we may be moving away from the Bay Area. Diana and Evan were so sweet and patient with me as the ever-unpredictable military kept us waiting for almost two months with our new set of orders! Seriously, y’all it was a guessing game as! When we finally received orders to Hawaii, it was definitely a sad conversation to have because I just love them as a couple!! Trust me, you’ll see why when you see their images! Diana is just so full of life and incredibly easy to talk to, about anything! She has such a kind heart an infectious laugh! And when Diana laughs, Evan’s face just lights up!
I am so honored when Diana and Evan asked if I was still willing to photograph their engagement session this spring. We started planning out the date, time, location, and outfits. The date actually worked out well as they were planning on attending a company party immediately following their session. And then the coronavirus hit, and I think we all know what that means. Yep! The company party is being canceled. Then on top of all that, the forecast was constantly changing. Not only that, but at this point, I am slightly annoyed that it is supposed to be raining the weekend of their session! I actually asked Diana about finding something indoors or if they would be willing to take chances in the rain. Afterall I have clear umbrellas, and there’s no need to keep the hair perfect anymore, right?! This is something I’ve been dying to do, which may sound odd. Diana, Evan, and myself, were all prepared with these amazing clear umbrellas only to be upstaged by the sun playing peek-a-boo their whole session. It was almost disappointing it didn’t rain, but I honestly couldn’t be happier with their images! It was incredibly hard to narrow down exactly which ones were my favorites. They both were such good sports as I literally dragged them all around our beautiful base!
Diana & Evan, congratulations on your upcoming wedding in September. I cannot wait to see how everything you envision for your wedding day comes together!
